Thanks to everyone who came out to see our performance this morning! Below you'll find a sneak peak at some of our pictures. Check back soon for an in depth analysis of this performance!
“Audience” is the first in a short series of live performances based on themes found in Plato’s Republic and their connection to communication theory. We are always communicating even when we may not think about or realize it. The clothes we wear, the way we speak, how we walk, etc. all say something. There is a continual give and take of information and knowledge in our everyday interactions.
“Audience” is designed to encourage those passing by to reflect on how they behave differently when they know they are being recorded, as opposed to when they do not think about people watching and receiving information from them.
The entire performance can also be analyzed as an interpretation of Plato’s allegory. There are those who will enter the circle seeking knowledge and those who will shy away from it remaining in the dark.
